mazda-kiyora-conceptThe Mazda Kiyora concept is a much more real-world version of the Nagare concept, which was first seen at the 2006 Los Angeles auto show. In Japanese, Kiyora means "clean and pure," Mazda choosing this name because it says the car "represents the harmony between driving pleasure and environmental and safety features." The goal with concepts such as the Kiyora is to get Mazda cars to a special place known as "Sustainable Zoom-Zoom."

The Kiyora is designed for youthful urbanites of the future. This city car achieves its efficiency through its aero, Nagare-influenced styling (flowing water is the design theme) as well as an all-new, lightweight platform, which Mazda says provides a high level of safety. Aiding with the Kiyora's efficiency is Mazda's "next-generation" direct-injected 4-cylinder, which features a Smart Idle Stop System to increase fuel economy and reduce emissions.
